It is with dignified excitement that the EBG has been trying to remodel the pathways and pavements, flower beds and green spaces which are seen by the public every day. The EBG has been in contact with the Surrey County Council, the Elmbridge Borough Council and the local politicians in order to get approval to do the work we think is vital for Esher. So far, we are accomplishing what we hope for.
We've been very fortunate to have the expertise of Ben Beth of Ben Beth Designs, and Creepers, to do the layouts and designs for the High Street. As you can see from the line drawings, the proposals are aggressive and in keeping with the history which belongs to Esher. The green spaces will be kept and the already wonderfully old bronze statues, water pumps and horse troughs will be protected, made more visible and surrounded by better landscape. We've also had the opportunity to work with Octagon Homes who have very generously helped the EBG to get some planning work expedited.
All in all, we hope the new plans for the Esher High Street will be met with approval by the residents in Esher. When we get further along with the planning, there will be public display boards for everyone to see in the local shops and library.
